The variety was introduced to the North American fig community after collector Tam Pham discovered it growing in the yard of a Greek family in Silver Spring, Maryland. The homeowner explained that the tree had been a gift from a friend on Madeira many years earlier, preserving a remarkable cultivar that has since become one of the most sought-after green figs among collectors.

The medium-sized fruit ripens with bright green to yellow-green skin surrounding a dense, ruby-red interior.
