Allix

Allix is an exceptional modern French fig discovered in the hamlet of Les Allix in Mongauzy, Gironde, France, and introduced to the fig-growing world by Thierry Demarquest of Figues du Monde in 2020. Although still relatively rare outside Europe, Allix has rapidly become one of the most sought-after collector varieties thanks to its rare combination of early ripening, outstanding rain resistance, heavy productivity, and extraordinary eating quality. While some experienced growers believe it may be closely related to the Bourjassotte Noire (Violette de Solliès) family, its exact origin remains unknown, and Allix has established its own reputation as a distinct cultivar.

The small to medium-sized figs develop a deep blue-black skin with a beautiful natural bloom that wrinkles slightly as the fruit reaches peak ripeness. Beneath the thin skin is a dense, dark ruby-red interior with an exceptionally rich, pasty texture that has become one of the variety's defining characteristics.
