Crema di Lamponi
Crema di Lamponi, meaning "Raspberry Cream," is a modern California fig introduced by Lee Ann of Sacred Origin. The mother tree was discovered growing out of an old well shaft on a homestead in Shasta County, California. The original tree is estimated to be nearly 100 years old, a testament to its resilience and longevity. As a proven common fig, Crema di Lamponi is self-fertile and does not require the fig wasp for pollination, making it well suited for growers throughout much of the United States.
The fruit is as beautiful as it is flavorful. Crema di Lamponi produces exceptionally large breba figs with a striking salmon-pink interior, followed by an equally impressive main crop featuring a deep red center. True to its name, the flavor is rich and indulgent, combining creamy raspberry sweetness with a gentle tart finish that creates a balanced, dessert-like eating experience. Its luscious texture, vibrant flesh, and outstanding flavor have quickly earned Crema di Lamponi a place among the most exciting modern collector varieties, prized for both its fascinating California history and its unforgettable raspberry-inspired flavor.
